The Latest T1D Nutrition Update π
Aug 12, 2024Hi everyone! π
I wanted to take a moment to update you all since some of you have noticed I’ve been a bit quieter on Facebook lately.
Thank you for your patience and understanding—it’s been a busy time for our family, and also professionally for me! π
Our son Lachlan has made the exciting decision to attend university in Australia. As a Canadian-Australian family, we’ve been navigating the process of getting him settled, including securing all the necessary diabetes supplies and insulin access through a local GP. He has decided to join his his older sister, Madison, who is currently in her 2nd year of university in Australia.
On top of that, I’ve been diving into some professional development with the Association of Diabetes Care and Education Specialists, and working on something I’m really excited about—a guide on Therapeutic Carbohydrate Reduction (TCR) for Type 1 Diabetes. This guide is aimed at dietitians and nutritionists and is currently in clinical review, with a goal to publish by September.
I’m also gearing up for our next T1D Nutrition Parents Program in September.
Our Signature 30-day program is designed to help families like yours navigate TCR for their children with Type 1 Diabetes, ensuring they get the nutrition they need while managing blood glucose levels effectively, aiming for stable, normal blood glucose levels, alleviating the stress and anxiety which comes with managing Type 1 diabetes, ensuring you as a caregiver have all the knowledge, tools, and support to help you manage your child's Type 1 Diabetes.
I’m looking forward to being more active on social media again and connecting with all of you! π
Thank you for your continued support and stay tuned for more updates!
π I'd love to know, what you have been up to lately?
